A Fish Called Avalon, a AAA 4-diamond rated restaurant, is probably the longest continuously operating Ocean Drive restaurant. A Fish Called Avalon has a great selection of seafood on a perfect Ocean Drive front porch setting and of course, as all of Ocean Drive, it has great people-watching! It is also one of the 1st fish restaurants on Miami Beach (with exception of Joes Stone Crab which has been there since 1913).

Yahoo! Puerto Saguas is one of the oldest basic Cuban restaurants before South Beach became South Beach. It features a full Cuban menu at wonderful prices (corner of 7th and Collins). If you want an easy-to-get basic Cuban food, Puerto Saguas is the place!

For a trip into Miamis past and for great food in a wonderfully gaudy atmosphere, try dining at The Forge, a hot spot since the 20s and recently awarded the coveted AAA 5-diamond award! Check to see their current, best and busiest night of the week.
Tips for dining out in South Beach Miami
Many restaurants include an 18% gratuity in your bill. Keep your eyes open for this (for example: A Fish Called Avalon). |
